Terms of Service
Last updated: November 2, 2026
1. The service
Hollow is a private-first vault for characters, art, stories and worlds, operated by Hollow by DXVIL (Czechia, EU). By creating an account you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Your account
You must be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. You can sign in with email, Google, or dxvil Account; password, two-factor and passkey management for dxvil accounts happens centrally at account.dxvil.com.
3. Your content
You own your content. Characters, images, stories and worlds you upload remain yours. We claim no ownership.
License to us. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, re-encode and display your content solely to operate the service (for example stripping EXIF metadata, generating signed links, and showing items to the audience you selected). This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
What you must not upload. Content that is illegal, infringes copyright or other rights, depicts sexual content involving minors, or is designed to harass or harm others. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
Privacy settings. Each item can be Private, Followers-only or Public. These settings are enforced by the database. "Public" means anyone with the link can see it — choose deliberately.
4. Premium subscriptions
Plans. Premium costs €10 per month or €100 per year and lifts the free-plan limits (10 characters, 20 stories, 3 worlds, 50 images). Prices include any applicable taxes shown at checkout.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel, switch between monthly and yearly, and update your payment method at any time from the billing page (Premium → Manage billing). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period — you keep Premium until then.
Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Premium features pause immediately. Update your payment method in the billing page to restore them.
After downgrade. When Premium ends, items beyond the free limits stay in your vault but become hidden from other people (oldest items within the limit remain visible). Upgrading again un-hides them.
EU right of withdrawal. Under EU consumer law you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a digital service purchase. By starting to use Premium immediately after purchase, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully provided. Where the law still grants you a refund right, we honour it.
Refunds. Outside statutory rights, payments are non-refundable except where we fail to provide the service; email dev@dxvil.com and we will make it right.
5. Payments
Payments are processed entirely by Stripe, Inc. Your card details are entered into Stripe's secure interface and never reach our servers — we only receive a subscription status and identifiers. Cardholder data security is governed by Stripe's PCI-DSS Level 1 certification and Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.
6. Acceptable use
Do not scrape the service, probe or bypass access controls, upload malware, automate sign-ups, or interfere with other users. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, with notice where practical.
7. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant uninterrupted availability, and we are not a backup service — keep copies of content that matters to you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or €50 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent, gross negligence, or your statutory consumer rights in the EU.
8. Ending the relationship
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. This erases your profile, content, images and subscription records. We may terminate accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Czechia. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence, and you may use the European Commission's online dispute-resolution platform.
